Unemployment Insurance if You are a Victim of Domestic Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault

It depends. If the circumstances that made you quit your job or the reason you were discharged came about from domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault against you, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. If you are a victim but the reason you quit or got discharged did not involve the violence/stalking/assault that you experienced, you may not be eligible for unemployment benefits.

Again, it depends. If your child was a victim of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault and the circumstances that made you quit or get discharged had to do with that fact, you may be eligible.

You must show you or your child was a victim by showing an order of protection, police report, medical report, or through documentation from certain professionals who work with victims such as clergy, social workers, shelter workers, or other professionals.
