Question:

My ex won't let me see our kids. Do I still have to pay child support?

Answer:

Yes. If there is a child support order that says you have to pay child support, you must pay it. Your kids need child support no matter what. This is true even if your ex won't let you see the kids. If your ex won't let you see the kids, you may need to ask the court to help you see them.

On the other hand, if you are a parent and your ex has not paid child support, you must continue to give your ex parenting time with the kids. You cannot refuse parenting time to your ex because your ex has not paid child support. If your ex does not pay child support, you may need to ask the court to make him or her pay.
