Motion to Appoint Interpreter (write-in-the-blank form)

Before You Start

 

You can use this Motion to Appoint Interpreter to ask the court to appoint an interpreter for you in a lawsuit if you are a person who has a limited ability to read, write, or understand English or if you have a hearing impairment and require interpretation services. 

You may use this form for any court case (civil or criminal) and in any court (district, justice, municipal, or city). You may use this form if you are a:

  • Party in the lawsuit (Petitioner, Respondent, Plaintiff, or Defendant) 
  • Witness
  • Juror or potential juror.

It is the policy of the Judicial Branch to appoint an interpreter for a person who has a limited ability to read, write, or understand English or if someone has a hearing impairment and requires interpretation services during any court proceeding.
