When can I call?
|
Monday through Friday |
7:30 am to 5:15 pm |
|
Saturdays |
9:15 am to 12:45 pm |
MLSA staff will help you apply over the telephone. The application will take about 10 minutes. If you qualify for help, you will get an appointment with an MLSA advocate, referred to a free attorney, or signed up for a self-help class.
Don't wait until the last minute to call us about an emergency! The earlier you contact us, the easier it will be for both you and us. It will give us more time to help you.
"But your phones are always busy!"
The Helpline gets many calls and it can be hard to get through. We want to hear from you, so please keep trying. The phones are especially busy on Mondays and Fridays and first thing in the morning. So try us at different times.
Currently, Saturday mornings are one of the best times to call. If you've been having trouble getting through, please try calling us on Saturday between 9:30am and 12:30pm!
Are there other ways to apply?
Yes! You can fill out an application and mail it into MLSA. Applications are available at MLSA offices and also on this website.
